I just acquired mine. how do I get that huge chunky steel piece off the spline to make it seem like it does in the 2nd picture. The spline is not exposed. Perplexed. Did I purchase the incorrect merchandise?
A: Eliminate the castle nut from the threaded portion of the shaft. The blade hub adapter need to slide off the spline with a minor persuasion. Then the spline and the threads will be exposed.

what is the big difference between the 250179 and the 250001? They look similar to me.
A: The overall box is the identical, but the input shaft specs vary in between the two.
