A bush chain is quite like the roller chain. However, it does not have friction – reducing rollers and is usually thus suitable rather for lower generating speeds. The permitted regular movement speeds of the slow-working bush chains range 
between 0.3 m/sec to 1 1.2 m/sec, with no more than 3.0 m/sec. Bush chains are most regularly found in applications requiring continuous operation under coarse working circumstances as well as operation in warm and humid environment where the use of belt drives will be inappropriate.
